utilization of electrodeposition on a graphite probe modified with palladium in determination of lead by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry in water and environmental samples
Authors
abstract
in this work a rapid and selective procedure for separation and preconcentration of lead(pb2+) before determination by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (etaas) wasdeveloped. the procedure is based on the electrodeposition on a graphite probe modified withpalladium. the lead was deposited from acetate buffer solution at ph 5.5. various parameters, such as ph of solutions, deposition potential, buffer concentration, stirrer speed, time ofdeposition and temperature program, were optimized. after optimization of the conditions, detection limit 17 ng l–1 by 3 σ, and enrichment factor 61 were achieved for 2 minelectrodeposition time and improved as deposition time was increased. linearity of calibrationwas kept between 0.05-0.50 μg l–1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.9979 and suitableprecision, r.s.d. % = 5.1 (n = 8). samples were digested completely in a closed microwavedigestion system using only perchloric acid, and interference owing to various cations was alsoinvestigated. the procedure was successfully applied to determine the presence of lead in rice, radish, okra, onion and water samples.

full textDetermination of lead in croatian wines by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.
A method has been developed for direct determination of lead in wine by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) with Zeeman-effect background correction. The thermal behaviour of Pb during pyrolysis and atomisation stages was investigated without matrix modifier and in the presence of Pd(NO(3))(2), Pd(NO(3))(2) + Mg(NO(3))(2) × 6H(2)O, and NH(4)H(2)PO(4) + Mg(NO(3))(2) × 6H(2)O ...
full textAutomated on-line separation preconcentration system for palladium determination by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry and its application to palladium determination in environmental and food samples.
A flow injection (FI) system was used to develop an efficient on-line sorbent extraction preconcentration system for palladium by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS). The investigated metal was preconcentrated on a microcolumn packed with 1,5-bis(di-2-pyridyl)methylene thiocarbohydrazide immobilized on silica gel (DPTH-gel). The palladium is eluted with 40mul of HCl 4M and d...
full textDEVELOPMENT OF A METHOD FOR ALUMINIUM DETERMINATION IN SERUM AND DIALYSIS FLUID BY FLAMELESS ATOMIC ABSORPTION WITH GRAPHITE FURNACE
Aluminium determination was carried out in serum and dialysis fluid by a simple and reliable method of nameless atomic absorption with graphite furnace . . No preparatory procedures are required for water and dialysis fluid. In this method serum was mixed with 0.2% HNO, to allow complete combustion of the samples in order to improve analytical precision. The method has a sensitivity of 15 p...
